Christmas is Love The Year Through
by Lyn Tovar

We're like the THREE MUSKETEERS, always ready for sport.
OH, HENRY, BABY RUTH, and I
Our swashbuckling, NUTRAGEOUS, adventures abound
Through the MILKY WAY, MARS, to the sky.

Why just last week, through a portal hid
TWIX the MOUNDS on 5th AVENUE,
We journeyed to YORK to see REECE'S KITKAT
And to watch good ol' CHARLESTON CHEW.

TOBLERONE Opera House, fine doors spread wide
Welcomed us with a SYMPHONY of sound.
Kindly MR. GOODBAR and his band of kazoos
Played Ode to ALMOND JOY as a round.

The B flat concerto known as NESTLE'S CRUNCH
Was the encore and finale intact.
The spectacle ended 'midst wild cheers and huzzahs
They threw KISSES as the stage faded to black.

We returned to our time with a trick known only to...
Well, I mustn't reveal how I know it.
Suffice it to say, we were well on our way
With judicious use of WHATCHAMACALLIT.

Amidst SNICKERS and STARBURSTS, our reentry was gained
The supervisor gave us a shout
We were fined $100 GRAND for our absence, you see
But a PAYDAY or two to sorted it out.

BABY RUTH was worn out, and HENRY was dazed
But all, with a smile on each face
Tackled our tasks with aplomb and zeal
For the approaching night of wonder and grace.

Legions of us packed packages, boxes, and bags
Near midnight to empty the shelves
That went on for miles and vast acres of ice
You guessed it, of course; Santa's elves.

“But HERSHEY”, cried HENRY to me at the dawn,
“I haven't a present for you!”
“My dear”, I replied, twinkling eyes and wide smile
“Christmas is love the year through!”
